These guys usually only miscalculate in war, the economy, well, in everything but politics. But I think this may be a politically dangerous visit to the lion's den.

The only thing I don't know is how much of a forum the rest of the UN, Kofi Annan, etc. will have to speak in a way in which the US media will report it.

It seems like a perfect storm moment for Bush to get bitchslapped: he sent Colin Powell there to lie his ass off at the outset of the Iraq fiasco, and now the most powerful country on earth wants to legally authorize barbarism, and to start gearing up for Operation Armageddon in Iran.

An awful lot of Americans are going to have to be ashamed of this, even if it's only the 57% that don't still think Saddam caused 9/11.

But, you may be right, because they indeed play the strings of the heartland like Hendrix played that upside-down guitar.
