As we watch the Republic Party eat its own, who'll be needing the toothpick?

They like to portray the Democratic Party as fractuous and factious. They would be wrong.

There's a whole boatload of old time Republics, many in the Northeast, who no longer even recognize the party as they one they continue to be members of, if only out of habit.

Then there's the pragmatist wing. The paleocons. There's no love lost between them and the religious nutter wing of the party. No one likes a scolding moralizer unless he's your moralizer. And the party scolds are not theirs.

Then there's the 'Archie Bunker' wing, many of whom have already taken their leave, thankyewverymuch. Pat Buchanan is their current spokemodel.

The neocons have so sompletely discredited themselves that they're already little more than salsa on the Republic taco that will be some group/faction's lunch.

They salami is already headed through the slicer.

My question tonight .... who will win control of the party?
