for the party if either Obama or Hillary wins.

Independent of the hurt it could cause to the party if obama is nominated it potentially shoots herself in the foot as well. By her own words she arguably CONCEDES this "threshold" to McCain. All McCain has to do is argue that she has not met it (which is a debate I'm guessing he'd love to have), while having a layer of insulation by her own words on a topic which she has previously espoused as a "critical criterion" for voters.I can't say that it's impossible as I don't know all "known arguments" that she has brought up, but from my current perspective, I don't like the risk. She'll have to clarify what she means by "threshold" without appearing as disingenuous or purposefully ambiguous in her prior comments (don't like the risk). Perhaps she could also try discussing other issues, but I still think it's risky to "give" him that without critically examining his competency on the issue (or even if it this is used as a deflection when he tries to use it on her)
Independent of equivalencing assigned to obama on this, it's one more tinder to the fire , that could burn down the party's chances of winning the election (I don't know if it's the straw that will break the camels back but it adds additional concern). If it occurs, this may not be a bad thing to those who support McCain's positions if their choice for the primary does not result in that candidates nomination, but personally I would hope that the majority of DU doesn't feel that way (maybe I'm just a newbie naive poster =( )
