Lieberman also blasted Sen. Barak Obama for voting against a resolution to label the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist group.

"These people are responsible for killing hundreds of American soldiers," Lieberman said." Senator Obama voted against that. Now, to me, that was an irresponsible vote. And I give Senator Clinton credit; she voted for it."


This item got lost amid Lieberman's other attacks on the Democratic Party and his ridiculous comparison of McCain to JFK, but I thought it was interesting.

Just to clear up Lieberman's lies, Obama had actually co-sponsored another bill that also labeled the IRG as a terrorist group, so that wasn't his objection to Lieberman's bill. His problem had to do with the fact that Lieberman's bill did not contain clear language saying that it did not in any way authorize the use of force against Iran. The bill Obama co-sponsored did have that language. And that's the reason many Democratic Senators who also co-sponsored his bill voted against Lieberman's bill.
