If Obama does choose a female nominee, my guess McCain will choose either: Pawlenty, Huckabee, maybe Romney (doubt it though).
If Obama does not pick a female nominee, McCain will likely choose one. My guess is Sarah Palin or Kay Bailey Hutchison.

I think Obama should wait till McCain chooses first, even if it after their convention. Remember before Mondale bid, the V.P selection was always chosen after the convention. Mondale chose Ferraro during his convention and afterwards he said he was forced by his staff to decide well before he attended to.

In the end, my prediction:

Obama/Webb or Clark vs McCain/Palin

or

Obama/Sebelius vs McCain/Pawlenty or Huckabee
