12. I'm sure it's been said a thousand times, but McCain launched this Shitboating himself

at a time when he and his campaign manager agreed would be to his best advantage. You can be CERTAIN that he always planned to make polite and reasonable sounding statements to distance himself from the most extreme and hateful reactions -- even as he planned to elicit those extreme and hateful reactions.

No one remembers Mark Antony's speech against Brutus?

Antony was not there to praise Caesar nor was he speaking to praise or defend Brutus, despite repeating "Brutus is an honorable man." The more Mark Antony spoke to "apologize" for Brutus' action and to remind the crowd how esteemed Brutus was, the more he incensed them against Brutus, while pretending to be slow to anger and violence himself. He got them to do his dirty work-he incited them to civil war-while he postured as "polite and reasonable".

McCain knows damn well what he an Palin are up to.
