56. Kerry is a closer.
Unlike *, Kerry gets better as the campaign progresses, just like he did in the primaries.

You're right that the media will spin it for *, but I'm getting a feeling that the media is largly irrelevant in this campaign. The folks that stay glued to Fox and CNN all day have already made up their minds. What matters is what ordinary folks are saying and doing.

I talked to a young waitress this week on a business trip. I asked her who she's voting for, fully expecting her to say she doesn't vote or doesn't care who wins. She gave me an earful, though, going on and on about how it's people like her that will have to pay off *Bush's deficits and people like her brother that will die for *Bush's lies. Early voting started in New Mexico last Tuesday, and she has already voted.

Pissed off waitresses have more power than all the media propaganda combined.

Kerry will do us proud Friday night.
