8. My response, of course written "on the fly"
Get private corporations out from in-betwee the voters and their votes.

Re-enfranchise the poor and people of color.

MoveOn has been out of step with its constituency on election integrity issues and has lost much respect on the left as a result. If you want to find your way back to your former position, you must listen not only to your members (and not just a select group of members!) but also to those committed activists, statisticians, Congress members, computer experts, community leaders who have been in the trenches slogging through these issues without access to the exposure or financing that MoveOn's participation could have brought.

There is no point in pouring money into political campaigns when the casting, reporting and counting of the votes cannot be trusted. The current election system assures inconclusive results.

Do you know about the Voter Confidence Resolution passed in Arcata, CA? If not, find out about it. MoveOn could get that passed in hundreds or even thousands of communities around the country.

This is a struggle that must be waged on many levels. Respect the expertise of those already doing the work, rather than trying to re-invent the wheel. Glad to see you're finally taking notice. I hope this signifies an end to MoveOn's apparent dismissal of this absolutely crucial set of issues.
