his music from the 70s and 80s is still popular among his original fans and the newer generations who weren't even born back then.

contrast that with some of the recent pop music stars like Britney Spears and the boy bands. they just fade out within a few years.

remember Spice Girls ? how they were popular for a short time. that boy group Hansen and now the Jonas Brothers. they will all fade . the teenage fans when they get older look back on that and laugh at that.
