I take my ability to laugh at myself as a positive - and if others find the situation humorous - then perhaps they are also finding it a little less scary. If they're laughing about it, they're still thinking about it. If they're still thinking about it, then it has the potential to make them consider other people's situations more than they probably had before. I don't see that as a negative.

I'm not going to tell you to stop being so sensitive, but personally, I don't see it the same way. We're all a little bit different.
