Every Christmas morning of my life, my family has scones. This recipe has been used for a few generations of my family.

Scones

Sift together

2 cups flour
1/4 Sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix in:

Scant cup of buttermilk
3 tbsp. oil

Pat into a approximately 10 inch circle on floured board. Cut into sixths. Grill (yes grill) on med. low heat until brown on both sides.

We eat these with jam or syrup. YMMMMMM.

On edit: Forgot a step.
