and he sends me audio. He has recording capability, I do not.

A lot of our collaboration comes from playing over a phone for the other one, and taking a lot of notes.

Usually it works pretty well.

The only thing is we have to make use of the rare and infrequent moments when we are together to practice and work out our stuff.
