[Nothing Without Hope]

during the weekends! I haven't been a Catholic in a very long time, but this somber death watch, the second this week, superimposed on so much bad news courtesy of the neocons, is hard to take without sharing with like minds.

Tulips in the garden are definitely growing again, puffed out and over 4 inches now. Blooming snowdrops with preoccupied bees in the local tiny nature preserve. Lots of water flowing, ducks are pairing, geese are getting more active about the pecking order. Saw our resident muskrat, quite close. No skunk cabbage yet, though, and the birdsong hasn't gotten loud yet.

Spring is coming. Not much old piled snow left now. More light, too. I'm glad this sadness isn't hitting in fall, that would be much harder to take.
