-- Before signing off, Keith reported that a Romanian publication has announced both the birth AND DEATH dates of the pope . . . and that the AP has picked the onfo up from the Romanian publication.

IN ADDITION, Keith said that in the past few minuites there had been some . . . I guess you could say, some chatter . . . that the Vatican Information Office would be making an announcement at 3am our time. And that the cardinals were heading for Rome, but there was no confirmation that they'd been formally "summoned."

So that's how things stand at 2am Eastern.
