Mark Foley's lawyers would be all over it by issuing press releases that the IM's were made up. The fact that they are silent while this is being spread althroughout the media speaks volumes. It is very possible that AOL still has logs from this on their servers and if so, it has probably already been verified by AOL. At the very least, AOL would be able to confirm the screen name matches up to Foley.
