Cleveland Submits Bid To Host 2008 GOP Convention

"Cleveland city leaders have submitted a bid to host the 2008 Republican National Convention.
The city is competing against New York City, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Tampa-St. Petersburg for the convention.

If Cleveland makes the first cut, Republican officials will visit the city in August.

"The last time the city hosted the Republican National Convention, Franklin D. Roosevelt was president.

Bringing the convention to the city would add up to $100 million in an economic boost for area businesses, restaurants, hotels, officials said. It would also provide a lot of national publicity."

I hope they pick us, I hope they pick us, I hope they pick us...
I would love to have those idiots spending money here. We are mostly Dems up in these parts and it would be like taking candy from a baby while they are here. 67% for Kerry in Cuyahoga.
