I was killing some time in a mall in Santa Rosa -- I was wearing a red bandana covering my hair (I have severe alopecia). I was approached by a pimply-faced, 19 years old security guard and told I had to remove my bandana or leave the mall! I was floored, to say the least.

It's my understanding that bans such as these are related to gang activity -- red and blue bandanas being related to crips and bloods.

But I am a 46 year old, white(ish), nerdy woman -- you know, the typical gang banger. :eyes:

I forcefully told the guard I would not remove my bandana and why, and he backed down.

It goes without saying that I have no plans to ever go back there. I don't know if it's Simon Mall or not, but it's the same bullshit.
