The government of the people, by the people, for the people...is dead.
It now is a government of a select few, by a select few, for a select few.

Everyday there is a new surprise. A new tyranny. A new controversial proposal that slinks by in the dead of night.

We must declare a new independence from that new tyranny. DU should draft a new declaration and then we should create a website with a petition on it. People will be able to download the petition and print it out and then send it in to a mail address. That way it will have the physical substance of a normal petition.

Once a certain large number of signatures is gathered, the petition should be submitted to the various states and their legislatures should vote on the petition.

That is a rough idea of the plan, how do you all like it?

I know at this moment in time we can still speak out, but when we can no longer speak out, it will be too late to stop this tyranny.
