....Many years ago I came to the government to do God's work....today, God has seen fit to call me home....although the Lord said, I may have a new 'calling' in the future....I fully accept the Lords decision....so, around my home I will now do some gardening, tree pruning and send my lengthy resume to Fox News....

....I can't thank all my loyal supporters enough....over the many years of services I have angered, confused, bemused and confounded many of you....for this, I apologize....but the Lord works in mysterious ways and so do I....

....I wish to thank Ned Lamont for his hard-fought campaign....without Neds' challenge, I would have never been able to demonstrate all my exemplary political skills (make me an offer)....

....I would like to finally, but jokingly say, 'You won't have Joe to kick around anymore.' but we both know that wouldn't be true....I'm not going anywhere....see you on TV or maybe even at the Defense Department....bye, and may God bless....
