     People that turn away from entertainment and to paying
more attention to contributing to a better world isn't likely
to happen overnight or in a short time span.  We can see some
progress, but those who work for positive change have to
remain steadfast in their approach, because our society is
very deeply imbued with tendencies that go against mass
participation.  
     We can be grateful when small signs of improvement occur,
such as when Democrats take a more thoughtful and realistic
stance on the so called "war on terror".  Our
national security establishment as a whole however, will
likely continue with a biased attitude toward the world.  We
should continue the effort to change minds so that our foreign
policy is balanced, fair, and not based on imperialism.
