level of violence (everything from threats and showy bravado to killing) in order to proove their manliness to themselves nor to anyone else. They don't need any group, nor an individual, of any kind to tell them who they are. I know because I lived with one, my spouse, for 29 years (before he died). I could see up close and personal the problems men have being men in our culture and I could see how a truly strong, self-reliant man solved those problems every day of his life.
