26. Education: STOP THE TESTING MADNESS
*Stop non-stop testing and start teaching. Stop putting taxpayer money into the pockets of the testing industry and back into funding for teacher salaries, school supplies, and adequate facilities.

*Reduce classroom sizes, make sure every student has a healthy breakfast and lunch, and adaquate time outside exercising their growing bodies.

*Start teaching children a meaningful curriculum, applicable science and math, and literature that they can connect to their own experience and that can educate them on the experience of others. Teach the basics of government - electoral processes, the Constitution, American History (un-whitewashed).

*Teach living skills, the importance of diet and exercise, how to read a recipe, how to boil water, how to balance a checkbook, how interest is compounded.

*Compensate teachers by paying them a reasonable salary and rewarding longevity.

These would be a start.
