Lincoln's Wrath: Fierce Mobs, Brilliant Scoundrels and a President's Mission to Destory the Press
Neil Dahlstrom

In "Lincoln's Wrath" Neil Dahlstrom tells the story of journalist John Hodgson, whose property, including his newspaper called the Jeffersonian, was seized under the order of President Lincoln. The author, who co-wrote the book with Jeffrey Manber, explains that Mr. Hodgson's newspaper supported states' rights and white supremacy and was highly critical of the Lincoln administration. Neil Dahlstrom details John Hodgson's day in court in 1863 when he successfully recoverd over $500 in damages from the government. This event was hosted by Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Naperville, IL.

Neil Dahlstrom is a scholar and historian who has written on many aspects of 19th century America, including the Civil War.
