4. Atty Gen Gonzales said in congressional testimony last week
when asked if the pres (under the advice he gave as Legal Counsel to the WH) could authorize completely domestic spying - with no court authorization, begrudgingly Gonzales said yes with some lame qualifier along the lines of if the Pres thinks it is important (again without having to justify these determinations) per national security.

Interesting that was said a day or so before this ATT story came out.

Since day one tha the NSA story broke I have suggested that the WH talkingpoints were very carefully worded to only imply that it was limited to 'communications with suspected terrorists' but that no where did there appear to be any such specific limitation.

In the years after this administration - I suspect that the general public will come to understand the extreme ways that this administration has changed our system edging closer and closer to tyranny/despotism.
