6. I live over the bridge from Palm Beach, so when son visits from further
north where he works for an exclusive Yacht and CC, we sometimes go over the bridge for lunch. Met some old pals at Green's Pharmacy (nice lunch menu (expensive). The galas/balls will be "scaled back considerably" was what son and I were told. These are usually over the top social gatherings wherein the proceeds go to various charities. Of course with the decorations, menus, etc. the charities could be receiving hundreds of thousands more but I digress. Son tells me his "Club" is also cutting back on their social activities and his members are not their usual jovial selves. Many martoonees being consumed but not much joy abounds. Sign of the times I guess.
