When's the last time a politician included in a stump speech biting criticism of transparent government and accountability?

Never?

Perhaps that's because almost everybody supports transparent government and accountability. It's not a liberal vs. conservative issue. This sort of thing is the low hanging fruit for the Democrats. They should be able to muster bi-partisan support to keep Cheney in check, but if Congressional Republicans and McCain/Palin don't wish to play ball then they've given easy fodder for a few more campaign ads for the Democrats.
