You KNOW its the media, right?

I mean, no matter where you are on the Great Divide, you do know its all about the media.

I've been screaming about this for years and years and I have not changed my views one bit since the time Fox came into existence.

The media is our biggest single problem. Bigger than the wars. Bigger than the economy. Bigger than the Gulf. Bigger than the presidency, politics, holding congress in the Fall, and all the other things we flap our scrawny, anemic arms about. The media does, in fact and indeed, create the reality in which we live. Fox news does it and the other media are told to follow and they dutifully do. Corporate ownership of the entirety of the formerly sound Fourth Estate has caused this country to become a brown cylinder caught in a whirlpool at the bottom of a white porcelain sea.

They can and do make us feel happy or sad or enabled or powerless. They manipulate our elections and our lives. They set our moods. Right now we are set to be fleeced to Third World status.

Unless a president is inclined to allow himself to be bought and placed in office and then revolt and take on the corporate owned media, we are doing nothing but futilely hoping for Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny to join with the Tooth Fairy and come visit us. And no. This is NOT ABOUT OBAMA. This predates him by a decade or more.

Until the media is broken apart and made to be honest, we are kidding ourselves if we think change will somehow happen. The only thing that will happen otherwise is shit. Shit Happens. Wishing is pointless.

There is no indication that this president or this Congress, any more than any of their predecessors, has any plans to go after the media any time soon. Berietbart may go down. Hell, Fox News may go down. But until there is FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE IN MEDIA OWNERSHIP, nothing else will get better.

It is all a sham. The rest is shiny objects.

If you want the wars to end, the truth needs to be told about them. About how they started. About what the REAL objectives were/are. About who benefits by what outcomes.

If you want the economy to get better, the truth needs to be told about the Too Big To Fails. The truth about the revolving door between Goldman and the Government/The Government and Goldman that transcends party and presidents. You need FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE in the economic structure of our economy. The truth will show the class war for what it is. The citizenry will see how the people they keep electing keep them metaphorically barefoot and pregnant. Keep them literally trapped in an economy that simply uses them and then fleeces them.

If you want real health CARE reform, the truth needs to be told about Big Pharma's antics in keeping us drugged and drug poor. The truth needs to be told about the insurers picking our pockets with abandon and with the tacit approval of our government.

If you want fair and honest elections, the truth about the shenanigans of the past needs to be told.

You get the point.

Tell the truth and the people ultimately come to see how they have been taken for the biggest ride in history.

And because of the stakes, the media will never go down without a fight. Never.

It is all a sham.
