19. G.E.RUSSERT completely misses the irony when he plays historical clips of panels of reporters
from before he took over. One would think that he would cringe to see hosts and panels of real reporters asking fair questions, compared to what he does and does alone.


I've said the same as the O.P. many times and that it should be called "Meet the-ONE-non-journalist".


As to G.E.RUSSERT's lack of irony and forthrightness, on C-SPAN a few years ago a caller confronted him by saying he was the same as Faux. It was clear what she meant, but G.E.RUSSERT replied, "You have me confused with someone else, ma'am. I don't work for (Faux), I work for NBC." Of course, they had disconnected her with her last syllable, so there was no chance for a real exchange. But what actual gratification can an ego get from playing silly word and gotcha games instead of a real exchange?
