I am so glad your father was so honored. And thanks for the information. I know when the time comes, my brother's wife and children will want the honors done to him as well. These types of funerals are long remembered. I still recall my grandmother telling me about the funeral of her grandfather, a Civil War veteran, who was buried in his uniform in the 1920s. I searched and found his grave and planted an American flag on it in honor of him. It is true that old soldiers never die-and hopefully the memory of their service never fades away.
