What with things like Prop 13 and other tax measures. While Californians may be ultra liberal when it comes to social issues, they certainly vote like rabid conservatives when it comes to taxes.

While I don't think that Ahnie helped the matter, I don't think that he could have prevented this catastrophe. His hands were tied by all the anti-tax laws, and the die for the crash of the housing market was already tossed.

Good luck in OKC, sorry to hear about your pink slip. But don't think that the economic crisis hasn't hit there yet. I live over in Missouri, and it's hitting all over the Midwest. All the school districts around here have cut back funding and axed teachers, and that's going on everywhere.
