Even though my state is very historically "blue," I don't live in or anywhere near an urban center, so I still get perturbed by all the "flyover state" and other assorted bigoted remarks against rural people/areas. It's far more subtle than the south-bashing, but it's still there. Having known many good, brilliant, liberal folks from south of the Mason-Dixon line, I rec'd your thread eagerly. Region-bashing is ignorant and provincial and far, far below anyone who claims to be of above-average intelligence or of a liberal political persuasion.
