If you like gallows humor.

The pithy "get a job" remark seems to be a mindless throwaway line people use to dismiss someone. Usually as a way to imply that someone is begging for something. This girl is talking about a loan so apparently she's willing to go into debt for an education. A debt she'd obviously have to pay off yet this person says "get a job" as though that answer was the end all to be all of everything. Meanwhile they never even take into consideration whether it's feasible.

What's worse this same person will complain about how "illegals" are taking jobs from people.

Of course having undocumented people who are in no position to fight back does deleteriously affect the labor pool, however the solution is not to go after the people being exploited it's to go after the employers. But that would mean going after business people (especially large employers) which for some reason people in this country seem to worship. As though business people could possibly do business without workers in the first place but that's a rant for another topic.
