TARP's first failed vote in the House on Pelosi's speech:

"Somebody hurt my feelings so I will punish the country."

Their first problem is that they perceive the Democrats as attacking them. But even if Democrats WERE attacking them, it is their responsibility as a citizen to educate themselves about the choices and make the best choice. To the extent they don't and decide not to vote Democratic, that is their fault. They have the right to be ignorant, but they don't get to turn "being ignorant" into a good thing, or to duck responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

After all, they aren't even punishing the politicians. Losing Congressmen by and large make MUCH more in the private sector than they ever did as Congressmen. If you told them you were "punishing" them by tripling their salary, they would probably laugh in your face. The only people third-party-voters/non-voters are punishing are themselves, and the country.
