28. I understand your point (to a point) but...
the guy who flew the plane into the building was flying a small private plane and there is nothing that could have been done to stop him, not even if TSA had been doing security checks at the private airport where if flew out of. What is happening at US airports in the name of security is total insanity. We are now required to have a strip search or be molested to get on a commercial plane. What next, cavity searches? We will never be 100% safe flying. That became apparent on 9/11/2001. I don't put my trust in the TSA. For the most part it is up to the flight crews and passengers to try to avert some asshat in the cabin from trying to bring a plane down.

As one poster stated the TSA knew of the underwear bomber for almost a year and they just started the publicity blitz recently and then changing the security procedures at the possible detriment of health to the frequent flier and air crews. This does not look like an organization that is proactive, more like reactive at a snail's pace. The TSA also knew cargo was an issue and until the bombs disguised as printer cartridges werer brought to the publics attention nothing had been done to screen cargo. It is just like our sea ports. They are open to just about anything.
