I agree on one point though- Obama's reelection chances in 2012 (both in terms of a potential primary and in the general) improve with a Republican takeover of the house.

Assuming that- and depending on what the presidential approval polls look like around the end of next year, I agree with Nate that we may also see a viable independent 3rd party candidate in 2012.
