The continued hearkening to expectations that he'll change his ways and do us right is always based on little more than feeling, and the dizzying joyousness continues to remind me of dealing with religious zealots. We accept their right to exist and the inevitability that they will, whereas they have the god-given right to destroy us and are sure that they can.
