It seems like all advanced societies develop a lowest common denominator of cheap entertainment and fast food, LOL!

I've been reading a biography of Caesar and he seems to have been the leading edge of a generation that reminds me so much of the Boomers with regards to culture it's funny. Reading up on the antics of the "Clodius Club" and how older Romans were aghast about it sounds like how older folks in the 60s and 70s had the vapors about the Counterculture.

Caesar started a fashion trend of young Romans wearing tunics under their togas that had long, frilly sleeves and it drove older people nuts. Cicero loved making fun of them, calling them the "cool, smart set".
