street from the college I attended. That college had a considerable amount of gays attending. One of them got a bumper sticker that stated, "Sucking Orange Juice Makes You Gay" and trotted across the street to have Ms. Bryant sign it.

Of course he had the obverse side up for her to sign. But her pen would not not write on the waxy paper protecting the sticky part of the bumper sticker.

So she turned it over and went directly into meltdown. She screamed and lectured the young man about the the evilness of homosexuality. Bryant was completely hysterical and the autograph opportunity was shut down immediately.

Bryant was losing her grip about that time, becoming more and more volatile. It wasn't a whole lot longer before she just sort of faded out of the public view.

While we all had a good laugh over it, I must admit that I had a sneaking sympathy for her. It was obvious to me that Bryant was in serious need of a good psychotherapist... I often feel sympathy for those who are struggling with emotional/mental problems. That woman must have been seriously unbalanced to be so personally and emotionally involved to the ruination of her career and her family.
