It's one of the few types of writing I refuse to do, even though I've did very well with my own academic papers. I could write them...no problem. I just won't. I've turned down many, despite a disclaimer, saying I don't do academic papers, it on my website. Some people have tried to argue with me on the subject. They get a concise and very pointed lecture on personal ethics from me when they do.

I don't care about bylines. Most of my writing these days is content for small business websites. My name's nowhere in view. Even with those, though, I've turned down a number of website jobs, and investigate the business before accepting a job. If a business smells of shady character, I won't write for it. I don't write porn sites, sites for ripoff businesses, sites for conservative politicians, or sites for churches. If I don't believe in what I'd be doing, I just turn it down. I'll never be rich in life, but I'll die knowing that I maintained my ethics.
