Florida is a conservative state for the most part. Even in an area like Miami where normally Democrats would expect good support due to it being a larger city you don't get that due to the older Cubans being very Republican. In my discussion with these Cuban Republicans they say that Republicans support punishing Castro and that's why they vote for them. I reply by asking if they are proud to be in America and they say yes. I usually then respond with if you are proud of this country then why not vote for politicians that will help the people of this country and not be so concerned with punishing a leader of a Country which you do not call home anymore. A lot of them are dirt poor too and rely on social programs to it will be interesting to see what happens with Scott in power. Also, it's not just Scott he needs the votes in the senate to pass these extreme pieces of legislation.
