They still use her as a distraction, but the big money and the powers behind the scene know she's a failure, money down the drain, an egotistical, willful ignorant bozo who refused to take instructions.

They don't mind the ignorance that much, if she only took instructions better. But she did not or would not, and that caused them to slowly step back from her.
