Rover! Don't EVEN think of calling a New Yorker a traitor. Wow Read This
I'd like to ask Karl and his puppies to stand anywhere in the vincinity of Ground Zero and repeat Karl's fatuous, lying remarks to a crowd of New Yorkers.

Some people are misunderstanding the nature of the backlash against Karl Rove and his latest attack against fellow Americans. There's nothing planned about it. It is real, and it is huge. Karl Rove, widely described as the most corrupting, immoral, "pathological" political hack in a nation awash in immoral political hacks, has taken it upon himself to attack a broad and deeply patriotic swath of Americans, including troops in the field, New Yorkers who lost loved ones in the tower, and anyone else who might actually have issues with the incompetent manner in which George W. Bush has cowboyed around the world roundly making a mess of the war on terror.

This is because Karl Rove is, at heart, less a genius than simply someone who finds America's legal and ethical rules below him. He's a political Ted Bundy, and the Republicans treat him like their patron saint.

So please, don't tell the citizens of New York, don't tell liberals, and don't tell fellow Democrats that it's OK to be called traitors. It's not going to work. It's not bloggers or talk shows feuling this, it is a deep-seated rage at the audacity not of Karl Rove, but of the amoral and thuggish White House itself. New Yorkers, in particular, have just had some Beltway hack call their mothers, their fathers, their sons and their daughters traitors. You really think New Yorkers are going to put up with that crap? I'm surprised Karl Rove got out of the building with all his limbs.

You can't make this shit up. It is precisely the Chritian value to turn the other cheek. Rove mocks the Son of God himself.

by 9/11, voted for Kerry?

So, as others have pointed out, is Rove saying that many New Yorkers don't truly understand or appreciate the horror of 9/11?

I was not living in Jersey when the Towers went down but my mother told me that one of the funeral homes their had 40 people waiting for a service. She said the papers were filled with obituaries. And New Jersey is as blue as New York.

I'd love to see Rove in front of a group of angry New Yorkers any day.

I had been living in Florida for a few years when the Towers fell. Middletown and Holmdel are both Monmouth county - very badly hit.

When Bruce Springstein sang about a "Jersey Girl" he was NOT talking about a sweet as pie, always polite little lady.

And that is a good thing! I'm proud to be a Jersey girl even though I am living in a loop of the Bible Belt. I don't always get along with people here and if it weren't for the weather I'd move back.

And * and * and * would NOT like to listen what I had to scream at them!

11. Wow, check out Mahablog's take on it, too (also on Dailykos)
www.mahablog.com

(snip)
Words cannot express the contempt I feel for Karl Rove and for the chorus of brainless little yappers applauding his recent remarks on liberal reactions to 9/11.

I'd like to ask Karl and his puppies to stand anywhere in the vincinity of Ground Zero and repeat Karl's fatuous, lying remarks to a crowd of New Yorkers.

Whole lotta liberals in New York. Whole lotta those liberal New Yorkers lost someone in the towers. Whole lotta liberal New Yorkers who lost someone in the towers might want to break Karl's jaw today. Karl would be well advised to keep his sorry ass out of New York from now on.

Junior got less than a quarter of the New York City vote last November, as I recall. Yeah, the people most closely affected by 9/11, who are most intimate with it, are less than impressed with Junior and his war on terra.

You have to go away from New York City, to places where people barely remember watching the towers collapse on television, to find people still willing to listen to the crap that spews out of Karl's mouth. All 9/11 means to them is an excuse to advance their hard right agenda and pound the stuffing out of Muslims. And any Muslims will do.

Justice for the dead of 9/11 went on the back burner as soon as Bush decided to invade Iraq. (9/12?)

I want Karl to apologize. Hell, I want him to apologize to me. Personally. Sincerely. And I want the yappy little puppies to look me in the eyes and say, Sorry, I guess we don't know you very well. We misjudged you. We take back what we said.

That karma wheel keeps turnin' children. Take care.

They breathed toxic dust and gases and they endured all kinds of disruptions for extended periods and they lived in an unbelievable morbid environment. 32. Camp Takeitall
Karl Rove is not and never has been a political genius any more than poor George can string a cognitive thought together. Baby Karl was hired years ago to be little George's camp buddy and both have been the recipients of Big Daddy and his buddies largess. They were both sent to "Camp TakeItAll" (some call it the White House) with promises that nothing bad would ever happen to them. All the "camp counselors" would watch out for them and protect them from any big bad wolves that might try to send them home. They were promised money, power, the votes, the media, everything to make their camp experience a successful one. They are the "kids" of the cartel and isn't it cute how hard they are working. They are bullies and inept thugs, they are 6th graders playing dress up. Daddy has the goods on anyone and everyone who might make their lives miserable, it doesn't take a genius to play in this game when you start out with all the playing pieces. No Baby Karl isn't a genius, not even close.

They're running the taxpayers money out to Daddy's friends with a hose directly attached to our gut, passing "GO" at record speed, so fast we don't even have time to ask how or why we got a "gut ache." We are all just sitting out here thinking they will care about us sooner or later, we just continue to remain astonished at what they are doing and about half of us think it must be ok, our politicians wouldn't hurt us. We keep thinking someone will catch them. Oh we've caught them but there isn't anything to do with them because all the camp counselors think they're cute and just hope to get some of that money. We don't care if there is a homosexual prostitute sleeping in the White House, if there is a porn star at fund raisers, if innocent people are pulled in to be tortured and die to make the movie more exciting, we don't care this, after all is "Camp TakeItAll"

Anyone who thinks these two yahoos are of genius status, they need to ask themselves how low their own bar of expectation falls.

First, it's better to provide the permalink so people coming later (like tomorrow or a month from now) can find the original.

But the real bone is that the first paragraph you quote is actually from Mahablog. Now, that's obvious if someone goes to the original source, but credit really ought to have been given to Maha (who used to post here -- does she still? I haven't seen her in a while). I especially think this is important since the post got the 3 nominations required for inclusion on the Greatest page, and should thus get more exposure than a lot of DU threads.

49. "There's nothing planned about it." - my eye! It's a smoke screen.
Hiding the DSM and Sibel.

Every mention of Rove's comments should include reference to the memos at least. Both his complicity in failing 9/11 and his lying us into war -- both -- should be mentioned each time Rove's comments get responses.

53. And the city that beheld what happened on 9/11...
...did vote 75 percent for Kerry, if I am not mistaken. In other words, if the city saw the horror of the attacks and yet did not back Bush, then they obviously were not persuaded by the dog-and-pony show cum hate-fest last September. I noticed, too, that Bush put off going to New York until the last minute (probably for effect, but it also makes me think he simply hates the place) and then went right to Pennsylvania after accepting the nomination.

Don't try to pull crap on New Yorkers. It isn't going to fly.

60. Did anybody see two 9/11 family survivors on Hardball?
Dembloggers.com has two people who had family members who died on 9/11. They were pretty good and talked about the things Bush isn't doing. The guy who was on told how he is working on getting better boarder protection and that Bush is against it. He's just waiting for another attack.

61. I've truly never before experienced the kind of visceral
loathing that I feel towards Karl Rove. In some ways even more than Dumbass and Dick. Evil just seems to emanate out of his very pores. I truly and completely despise him and would feel absolutely no sympathy for him whatsoever if karma came and bit him in the ass. I know that's bad karma for me to say that about another human being, but I really wonder if he even is human.

67. I have nothing but contempt
for this outrageous assault on half the U.S. population.

Rove's arrogance is unbelievable, and the shameless political use of one of the greatest tragedies in our country's history (occurring on their watch) speaks volumes. Ironically, the conservatives' LACK of understanding of the enemy have fueled an increasingly dangerous world.

70. Good point. Anyone who says they agree with Rove should repeat ...
... what he said. Better not do it in front of me.

71. this is my big surprise
I hear the guy is married...I really thought he was a homosexual, not that homosexuals don't marry for cover...I just never thought he had a wife...who is Mrs KKK? Why don't we know more about her?....He has a son too...who hasn't joined the armed forces? what gives. (no gay slamming intended) I just thought he seemed effeminate and all his hubris and bluster was to cover it up.....same for Limbaugh just seems like a big sissy pants to me....
