We have our theme for 2006 and 2008 if we want to use it |
|
It is time to restore competence and merit to government. Say what you want about Clinton, but he appointed competent people. His FEMA director wasn't some political hack who couldn't even run a horse club. His attorney general wasn't a radical cleric who spent thousands to cover statues and botched terrorism investigations. His Secretary of State actually read documents that were addressed to her and could figure out that planes could fly into buildings.
This is about more than retoring basic competence, though we sure could use some of that in NO as I type. This is about the very nature of how we live. Does it matter if our government can prevent disasters and respond to them when prevention fails? Does it matter if we can protect our own country if God forbid we get attacked? Does it matter if we feed, clothe, and doctor the poorest among us? Does it matter if we educate the masses? We know the answers to those questions. NO puts some of those answers in stark relief for us.
We need to restore science to our decision making. We need to restore accountability to our cabinet. We need to restore merit to our selection processes. It matters who has these jobs. NO helps us see that.

3. Don't get that idea in your head! Haven't you seen and heard enough of |
|
their spin to know that they have a "marketing program" that is far superior to that of the Dems?
Yep, I said marketing! That's exactly what they do, they market and sell candidates, people, and ideas, and there's lots of Americans that aree gullible enough to buy it!
YES we do need a plan, and if the Dems don't point out all the failures of this crowd, they don't deserve to be elected!!!!

4. Fired an opening salvo in my LTTE |

I am from Iowa. One of our candidates for Governor is Jim Nussle. Nussle has spent the past 5 years toadying to Bush and being Bush's water carrier on the budget. I noted in my letter that funds cut from levy projects were due to our man Mussle. This is not the kind of leadership we deserve.
