ARG!!!! AIEEEE!!! EEEEEEKKKK!!!
It's 1:30 a.m. and i've got a toothache like the Trump of Doom.

I've had four T3's and two Zanax. I'm about to get into some port.

The emergency dental clinic doesn't open for another 6 hours.

Anybody got any other bright ideas?

Anybody wanna sit up with me while I scream and tear my hair.

Breathing hurts.

Moving hurts.

Blinking hurts.

My hair hurts.

1. Ouch
The Xanax wont help, except make ya a bit dopey. The T3's could help. Also try Ibuprofen at 800 mg, can take the edge off even though it is non-narcotic. The port with narcotics and benzos is a bad combo. Peace and good dental work.

4. I know it's a bad combo
each adds to the effect of the others, which is exactly what I'm intending.

There's other people here who can deal with me if i get rowdy or dopy.

16. I'm with FM on the 800 mgs. of ibuprofen. It has an amazing effect on...
...dental pain, for some reason. No port. Take the ibus with sugar and caffeine--a Coke for example.

6. I don't know
I had dental surgery a few weeks ago and i'm wonderin if a so-called disssolvable stitch fscked up a nerve. The tooth involved has alrady had a root canal AFAIK.

3. A clove or 6
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 03:37 AM by sandnsea
That sometimes works, cloves straight on the tooth. Or Anbesol, maybe? Toothaches are almost as bad as giving birth. I feel for you.

Oh, and antibiotic. The pain is often caused by infection and an antibiotic can knock down some of the infection, relieving the pain.

5. Rub one of these on it...
Ambesol, or some other oral pain relief agent. Available at ripoff prices at your local all-night gas station.

Clove oil. I hate the taste and it's not as good as an over-the-counter numbing agent, but it does work.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. Booze doesn't work. Neither does any pain pill short of Percodan.

Good luck.

12. Already talked to them
Emergency room is packed with heart attacks, I'd be so far down the list that they couldn't see me until the clinic opens, meaning may as well just stay here where i can amuse myself.

The T3's are gonna keep me awake (contain codeine (damn, I'm trying to get off codeine)) and I bought a bunch of movies I've been meaning to watch.

11. don't play around with port
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 03:44 AM by Clovis_Sangrail
go straight to the vodka.
1/2 Stoli Limoniya 1/2 Tonic over ice.
They taste like water and sneak up on you.

Drink 5 or 6 within an hour or so... if you're still able to pour drink a few more.
Pass out into blissful non-toothpain until you can get to the dentist.
(actually, the pain won't go away, but you wont care about it)

I've been there.
It works.

on edit:
noticed you've been eating pills... so scratch the heavy drinking.
barfing won't make you feel better.

21. Shootz...
A coworker of mine once had dental surgery and the dentist broke off the tip of the drill bit and sewed it up into her gum. She didn't find out about until five years later when she took ill, got an infection and was running a fever of 104. Needless to say her dentist had a pretty big malpractice lawsuit on their hands.

23. if you haven't already, rinse vigorously with warm salt water. over and
over, a cup of it. it might hurt, but you already hurt, and you should feel relief pretty soon.

then put ice on the outside of your cheek where it hurts, and leave it there till it's all numb.

do the same again in awhile.

then get help first thing possible. it sounds serious.

meanwhile, close your eyes and visualize yourself lying on a beutiful tropical beach and feeeeeel the golden sunlight on you. feel it drawing out the pain. see the golden sun all over you and feeeeel it...

peace.....
