Help-opened a can of sweetened condensed milk-suggestions? |
|
What do I do with a can of sweetened condensed milk? We open it by accident rather than a can of condensed milk and now it is sitting there looking at me begging to be used in some manner. Any suggestions?

3. Don't They Use It In Those "No Bake" Cookies? |
|
My coffee place, I think they said they use nuts, that sticky milk and...I dunno something else!
I don't like sugar in my coffee but if you do, do like the Cubans do and get yourself a BIG STRONG STRONG STRONG espresso and mix it with the condenced milk!

8. Put it in very strong coffee. Or, mix the can with 3 cups of |
|
melted chocolate chips, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of vanilla-- put in the refrigerator until firm. "idiotproof fudge".

A bag of chocolate chips? Some vanilla? maybe some walnuts? if you do, put the milk, and bag of chocolate chips in a double boiler and melt them together stirring continuously. Once melted, take off heat and add a teaspoon of vanilla and the nuts, spread into an 8"x 8" foil lined pan. Put in fridge to cool, cut into squares and eat!

12. Melt the following together in a double boiler: |
|
16 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips 4 tbsp butter One can condensed milk
Take care that the chocolate doesn't burn -- as soon as it looks like it's starting to melt, take it off the heat and stir and let the residual heat finish melting. Alternatively -- heat up the butter and milk until the butter melts, then remove from heat and stir in the chocolate.
Anyhow.
Pour into an 8 X 8 cake pan that's been lined with buttered parchment or plastic wrap (or, use a disposable foil pan). Let cool until it's room temperature, then put in the fridge to set (about 2 hours).
Easy fudge, basically.
If you want, stir in some peanut butter, or top with mini-marshmallows and broken graham crackers, or whatever else suits your fancy.

Here's my recipe - it's quick and super easy!
1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 small can of limeade 1 container of cool whip green food coloring and one graham cracker crust pie shell
Mix first three together then tint with food coloring. Put in shell and refrigerate until it sets. Enjoy!

Graham Cracker Crust Two cans sweetened condensed milk A dozen real key limes (much smaller than regular limes) -or- about four regular limes Two eggs
Juice the limes into a cup and save the juice, toss the rinds. Whisk the juice with the eggs and stir in the sweetened condensed milk. Pour mixture into graham cracker pie crust and chill for two hours in the fridge.
Easy peasy, Japaneesy.

3 cups of chocolate chips (I like to use white chocolate) and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract.
Melt everything together over medium heat on the stove.
Pour into fudge pan, allow to set (I put it in the fridge).

I love macaroons. I really like haystacks (chocolate and butterscotch chips melted and dumped over toasted chinese noodles). But I now have a new favorite. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Yummy.
Recommendation, make sure they cool before eating unless you like to pop roof of the mouth blisters.

Next time I'll share. I woke with a headache and they gave me a bad dream last night where I got a notice from my old highschool that they'd figured out the entire class of '72 had to come back and take 1 more history class. Though they are good for breakfast.
