Tell us something embarrassing about yourself
C'mon now. There's a monster thread in GD right now about a certain high-profile prosecutor that likes to play the accordion. Some people think that this is embarrassing.

What's your deep, dark secret? Remember, this is anonymous, so nobody will know. You can tell us! What's something you do that other people would think was weird?

I have two things:
1. I read the National Enquirer. Yes, it's true.
2. I cry at the end of "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Every year.

12. It's okay, sweetie
 :pals:

We can find something else to eat, like -- well, do they have the infamous "Uncle Seth's Pink Cookies" in the South? They're shortbread cookies with pink cream cheese icing. They're only like 1,000 calories apiece.

I LOVE them. I'll bet you would, too.

I have nobody to talk to about my massive crush on Patrick Fitzgerald, for instance. DH thinks it's the funniest thing he's heard this year, and teases me incessantly: "He's not going to tell you anything."

Oh! oh! OHHHHHHHH! I can get DH back for mocking me about my poor aching heart. Do you KNOW how many times he's watched "The Last Starfighter"?

34. I like "Titanic"
the ship, the movie, and all of its historical records. My wife knew this when we met, but she really didn't have any idea of how deep the obsession went.

I was obsessed with it long before Jim Cameron put it all to film, and I've dragged my significant other around the country collecting artifacts. And since I'm an engineer, the things that people sell thinking "it's not worth anything" I buy at ridiculous prices, which pisses my wife off, understandably.

That's all you get for this thread. I've got more, but they aren't approved for family columns.

43. Things I am irrationally scared of that are embarrassing:
Frogs
Gnat swarms
Dogs...I once ran in terror from a beagle named "Muffin-pie" that I outweigh by a 15-1 margin.
Finger-prick lanclets
Door-to-door solicitors
SCAdians and Ren Faire people

Vampire movies, bloody movies and graphic medical dramas cause me to pass out cold, people like to show me gnarly wounds to watch me swoon and I have to be sedated to have blood taken.

I know my way around DC, Philly and Hartford because I have been at several times in my life a bike courier but once I get outside of the urban area, and I mean like 2 blocks outside of the downtown area, I'm lost.

What's worse are when I'm giving directions and I realize halfway through that the ways I know to get places don't actually work in a car...like driving across Bushnell Park in Hartford, the Mall in DC or down the Georgetown stairs.

50. Voicing approval for George Bush over Al Gore in 2000.
Yes, I'm embarrassed to admit it. My colleague at work told me that all he was itching to do was to start a war and that he was a warmonger. She was right.

My alibi was that I wasn't that politically motivated in 2000, I had just come to the US in 1999, so I was getting to learn about things and the way they work over here. Unfortunately I have learned about them during the most corrupt government that I have ever lived under. Margaret Thatcher is positively liberal compared to Bush Jr, even this bluest of blue Conservatives has criticized Tony Blair for taking the UK to war in Iraq over flawed evidence.

I may not agree with her politics but I do agree with Thatcher's ethics: "I was a scientist before I was a politician. And as a scientist I know you need facts, evidence and proof - and then you check, recheck and check again." Something this nasty administration has never appeared to have done.

51. On a lighter note here's another embarrassing moment of mine...
... and it happened when I was drunk in the Student Union. I was completely blitzed, and I turned around to my friends and said something like "Let's find a woman and get up her, like that one", and pointed to my friend's girlfriend. I didn't realize that these two people had been going out for some time. I think I was led away rather quickly somewhere else for another drink.
