I can't wait...

Nothing big or fancy. Just about 25-30 of our closest family and friends. We rented a house and a couple of cabins on a local lake and my sister-in-law is performing the ceremony. We have a strict dress code: Jeans, shorts, sweats, or whatever is comfy. Anyone defying our orders will end up in the swimming pool. :evilgrin:


Aren't you getting married soon, too? Or has that already happened? We are so busy right now that I lost track of what is going on on DU.

laws. we are changing our last names though

Too bad about the NY law. At least they are moving in the right direction. In 2004, the Ohio voters passed a draconian state constitutional ban on both gay marriage and civil unions. I think my wife and I were the only ones on my street to vote against it. People are afraid of all the wrong things.

I love your dress code! Seems to me that the whole bridezilla thing has gotten so grotesque that weddings are no longer anything fun. New Beau and I have already discussed that *if* we ever got that far we'd have a civil union in Vegas by Fat Elvis wearing a rhinestone zippered jumpsuit. I'll settle for no less and no more.

but we thought we'll just plan it as a party/family get-together and the family won't feel sad that they weren't part of it.

I don't understand people who spend tens of thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of dollars on huge weddings. What a nightmare. The stress of planning everything and then trying to pay off such a huge loan. People are crazy.

10. We dressed up for the wedding, but people changed into shorts

at the reception. The reception was at a campground, so we had people playing cards, dancing, playing soccer and even a Labador puppy!
