Looking like Obama is on the path to the Nom.... |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 09:48 PM by WyldRogue
.... and so here is where I'll cast my voice to the people and see if I can take some of your time to see if some sort of resolution can be had.
I am a hard working, proud man (color doesn't matter) who worked very hard to be where I am today. Worked myself through college to break out of the 'mold' society puts one in due to race, gender, religion, etc. And not once, have I never asked for a handout, never lied to any members of my family and friends and respected every person that indeeds deserves it, always did my best to help anyone in need (because I know what it feels like, I lived it myself) and have decided to lean toward Obama.
But what exactly does Obama stand for?
I have yet to hear him say specifically about what he plans or would like to do for the people who elect him. What is he going to do for the homeless, for the children, for the elderly. What is he going to do for minorities, women. He wants to bring home the soldiers from Iraq, what is he going to do for them? What is he going to do for the current veterans that have already served this nation? I am not hearing any specifications. All I am hearing is him calling for new HOPE and CHANGE. Hope for what? He is definitely someone who has the gift of gab but not substance? Change to what? A nation of words without action. I cannot believe so many people have bought into this without really asking any pertinent question about the specificities of his plans to lead our nation out of the shadows of deceptions back into the beacon of light of Democracy our great country was founded and built on.
Make OBAMA spell out exactly what he plans to do. Make him promise and then, keep his promise to help give us the reason for new HOPE by the CHANGES that he will introduce. Words will not and cannot be the sole reason for electing ANY individual. We need an active leader not a figure head with a mouthful words that in reality mean absolutely nothing.
For him to really pull me in, he needs to tell me what his plan of action will be? How will he address the NEW challenges that lay ahead for all of us as well as the PRESENT conundrum that * and his rabid lemmings have left behind?
I truly do not want a Republican back in the White House. I know I'm only an Independent but my voice matters just as much as my Democrat constituents that proliferate on DU.
Let us all hope and pray that finally, our voices will be lifted out of obscurity and we ALL come together again as a Nation of Free People, willing to stand side by side united in the face of the troubled roads that now lie ahead of us....
God Bless to one and all.
(Obama, I'll be waiting for YOU to tell me what I need to hear)

form of torture, putting a microscope to Bushes signing statements and rescinding any that were not constitutional be a good start? That's some of what he's said he'd do.

4. That is a great start... |
|
... but that is a given and House and Senate will soon restore those without Obama's help. I have a strong hunch that the Dems will take over ALL THREE Houses. I am positive they will put forth the referendums and bills that have been stalled out all year by the obstructionist Republicans (you reap what you sow).
There are other issues at hand that is more prevalent to our country. Security, infrastructure, economy, our sick and wounded (why does our Nation, one of the RICHEST in the world, have children sick and dying because of the inability to get the help and medical treatment necessary to help promote a long, healthy, prosperous life? Don't our children deserve THAT much?)
Take care of OUR Nation first.... help our OWN before we help other nations with their problems....
There are substantial issues that needs to be addressed by BOTH candidates but I have YET to hear either of them reach that plateau....

6. Most of what you cited is not up to the president, it's up to |
|
congress to present solutions in the form of bills then the president can sign them. I'm sure he has those things in mind when he cites change and hope, wanting to end the war and put that money to use in this county, seeing that teachers get proper pay, children get health care, etc. Go to his website and see what he stands for.

9. Websites are like hollywood makeup... |

...just words on a screen. It's much different if it's on paper. Both of their sites have their share of rhetorical nuances so I wait for the Nominee. As was stated earlier, either of them is better than McBush's 'Stay the Course' mentality.

are going to pick up the phone and call you. You may actually need to read a position paper or two. Fortunately for your lazy ass, they aren't hard to find for either candidate.

8. And that's all you have to offer?? |
|
Vile words for a fellow American that has done nothing to warrant such a immature response. Is this the true spirit of a supporter of the next Presidential candidate?? You sure do sound like one of those angry Neos that are on their way out.
Yes, I actually DO read, have you? You are the prime example of what it's like to contribute NOTHING of substance in your response, only the guff of an angry, withdrawn individual.
And by the way, who said anything about getting a phone call lmfao@you. That stupid 3am phone call stint comes to mind thanks to you...

Obama is just a clever bullshi**er. There is nothing there there. Its a little difficult to criticize a senator's voting record when he's never bothered to vote. He has one of the worst voting records in Congress. Once again the American people are being duped.

7. Well, gee, tell us how you REALLY feel! |
|
HAHA. Only a very newby would dare post something like that! Don't you know that Obama is our holy savior?
Obama weirds me out, as do his "followers." But Clinton has her quirks too. But I'll happily vote for either one because either one of them will make a fine president, especially compared to McSame.
We must all remember that it is the republicans and their proffered front man McSame who are the true enemy not only to all democrats but to the very idea of america. Republicanism is anathema to american values.

"Senator Hillary Clinton should probably be forgiven for not remembering the course on the state Constitution that she would have had to take as an eighth grader in Illinois. 12. FedoraLV's response re: Obama |

Very nicely done. Isn't it interesting how little room the facts take VS. all the hyperbole and vitriol that normally is spewed out in both directions on these boards?
