F*cking media deals with the REAL news of the day...
I don't have cable, so I try to catch the first 15 minutes of the morning shows to see if I missed anything important overnight. I rather dislike all 3 networks, so I don't remember who said what, but the BIG stories of the day were:

Lady attacked by gorilla in bad shape
Octomom loses a kid and calls 911
Barbara Bush has open heart surgery

After all that, they begin a story about the Healthcare summit, comparing how difficult it is for people, but that nothing will probably work (their idea of getting both sides, I guess). Then they have the nerve to ask Newt Gingrich what he thinks! Then the President's spokesperson is talking about the summit, and they have the nerve to ask her if Obama will debate Rush Limbaugh on his radio show!

This all pisses me off on so many levels. Things the media could have done instead:
Look into all the people in Sudan who are horribly disfigured in Ethnic cleansing and all of our soldiers with TBI who are facing the same problems this poor white woman received from trying to subdue someone's exotic pet.

Investigate the banks, lenders, and developers to get to the cause of the problem of the economic and housing crisis to see who is responsible. Lord knows they didn't even attempt to look into the abuses two or more years ago when all this was happening under our noses.

Compare Barbara Bush's level of healthcare to a single Latina mom working working her ass off without any healthcare who has heart disease.

and finally...

SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT A RADIO PERSONALITY AND HIS STUPID ATTEMPT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO HIS SHOW! This is apalling. Barack Obama is the fucking President of the United States of America (I say that with the higest level of respect for Obama), for the media to even approach this with a White House official just shows what giant idiots they are!!! What's next, "Mr. President, will you be going on Howard Stern anytime soon to judge the Who can sit on the sybian the longest for a a breast implant contest?"

GRRRRR!

2. They don't want to inform the public
They only want to persuade the public. When there is no need to persuade the people, they tell us all about the octomoms, animal attacks and American Idol results.

Is it news or is it entertainment?

3. Welcome to why I have turned away from TV
We don't have cable and we don't have rabbit ears, though I'm told, soon rabbit ears won't get anything anyway. I get my news online or I don't get it, and when it comes to the networks and CNN, I think I'm saving my rage attacks substantially. I know they are going to waste my time so I don't let them. I won't even watch at work. I refuse and yet, somehow, I'm the most politically informed of the people I work with. I can't tell you whether anyone got kicked off the island or if that damn idiotic show is even on anymore.

Oh, and unless things have changed muchly, I don't think anyone on the networks even knows what a sybian is or why someone might choose to sit on it, but thanks for the smile of remembrance.
