1. I grew up in the south and witnessed this crazy rejectionist bullshit....
...first hand. There is such a meme down there, at least in the rural parts which I grew up in, about the "South Rising Again!". It's fucking sick. Even as a kid it seemed weird to me...

3. First amendment
Despite efforts by the far right to eliminate it, our freedom of assembly is still in the constitution. The Klan sucks, but I'd be way more pissed off if they *weren't* allowed to rally.

4. Exactly!
Even if we don't like what they have to say, they have a right to say it.

5. Put KKK in the "War on Terror" context:
The Klan was born out of a failed attempt to overthrow the government of the United States by force.
A group of sympathizers of the rebellion assassinated President Abraham Lincoln.
The Klan, through terrorist tactics, sought to deny voting and other human rights to black citizens of the south.
Thousands of people were murdered by the Klan. Others were terrorized by threats of murder.
The Klan was able to infiltrate the government. Many members were able to reach high rank in Local, State, and Federal Government. Some whole governments were taken over by the Klan.
Given the history of the Klan as a recognized terrorist organization, they should be given the same or even greater scrutiny as members of Al Queda, Hamas, or Hezbollah.
